Team Canada As Sydney Crosby's Muse?

So I'm watching tonight's Canada/Germany hockey game and Rick Nash busts in, splitting the defense and attacking the net, drawing a penalty SHOT.

With Canada leading 4-0 coach Babcock surmises that at this critical juncture what we really need is to let the media designated star pull a little razzle dazzle.

So he appoints Sid the Kid to take the shot.....which he of course misses.

Nice.

I thought that move was pretty lousy also. Nash might have done better. I switched channels after that episode.

Nash earned the shot.

Nuff said.

Agreed, but Nash DID score later. More worriesome are the Russians. Are the Canadians loaded for bear, so to speak?

This could be good.

A pox on Brodeur's house. Frigging grandstander.

Brodeur had me scratching my head.

On one of the goals, which had nothing to do with "Syd the kid", the commentaters were praising Crosby for staying out of the way! They were hardly mentioning the guy who scored the goal, but hey, Crosby stayed out of the way so the other guy could score! This Crosby obsession is starting to get really annoying!

It seems that if the game play doesn't fit the preconceived narrative they ignore the game and push the story.

I'm getting tired of this bullshit. Call the game and save the story.
